What We Believe

What We Believe

We are part of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida and a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Our faith is best expressed in the ancient Nicene Creed. It is further explained in the 39 Articles (see Book of Common Prayer)

About God

We believe and trust in God the Father, source of all being and life, the one for whom we exist. (Article I) There is one true and living God in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (See Gen 1:1, Gen 1:26-28, Deut 6:4; Matt 28:18-20; etc.)

About Jesus

We believe and trust in God the Son, who took our human nature, died for us and rose again. (Article II) (John 1:1, John 1:14, John 1:18, etc.)

About the Holy Spirit

We believe and trust in God the Holy Spirit, who gives light and life to the people of God and makes Christ known in the world. (Article I, Article V) (John 14:16, etc)

About Man

We believe that God created humanity perfect and in innocence, in our rebellion we turned away from God. God did not abandon us, but in love sent his Son to save us and his Holy Spirit to open our eyes to the wonder of his mercy. (Article XI, Article X, Gen 1:27, etc)

About Salvation

God sent his Son, Jesus Christ to restore our relationship with God. (Article XI, 1 Timothy 1:15)

About the Resurrection

Jesus rose from the dead. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, so too shall we. This is our blessed hope. (Article IV, Romans 8:11)
